In a flashback to the 80s, we see a 17-year-old Lily who gets kicked out of boarding school and runs away to L.A., she there sees her parents, Rick and Cece, and her sister, Carol. Back in present day, Blair and Nate go to a prom together, but the night doesn’t turn out as planned and Chuck has a something to do with it. Serena and Lily don’t see eye-to-eye over Serena’s recent run-in with the law. And we see No Doubt perform as an 80’s band named “Snowed Out”.
Lily recalls her past when, in a flashback to the 1983, 17-year-old Lily Rhodes got kicked out of her boarding school and ran away to Los Angeles. There she reconnected with her worrisome parents, Rick and Cece, as well as her younger sister Carol. When the young Lily’s parents introduce her to the wealthy Keith van der Woodsen, whom they want her to marry for a life of wealth and privilege, Lily doesn’t know whether to defy her parents, or follow her own path. In the present, Blair and Nate decide to attend their senior prom together. But the evening doesn’t turn out exactly as planned, and Chuck and Serena team up to give them trouble. Meanwhile, Serena becomes furious when she learns that Lily deliberately had her arrested for her defiance, and vows to move out. Rufus ponders his life and future without Lily, who he snubs for what she did to Serena, as does Eric, Jenny, and even Dan despite his guilt for indirectly causing Serena’s arrest. Elsewhere, Georgina Sparks, now reverted back to her old wicked self, tracks down Poppy to Florida. There she vows to steal back all of her money, as well as all the money that Poppy ripped off from everyone else… and keep for herself.
